Before your first
consultation you will be asked to complete a detailed Nutritional Assessment
Questionnaire (NAQ), which has been specifically designed to identify
the link between symptoms of sub-optimum health, and specific nutritional
deficiencies (this will usually be posted to your address upon request).
Lifestyle factors
such as general health, past medical history, any current medication
you may already be taking, current diet, frequency and type of exercise,
and percieved stress levels are all included. This information is used
by the nutritionist before and during your first consultation to develop
both an accurate picture of your lifestyle, and also the foundations
of an individualised programme tailored specifically for you.
Recommendations
may include dietary changes, a supplementation programme, possible lifestyle
changes, and clinical testing if deemed necessary.
You will be provided
with full printed explanations of advice and recommendations made for
you in your consultation, and also other printed information relevant
to your condition.
Since the consultations
are designed to be both educational and informative, there is generally
no need to keep returning once health improvements have been made -
typically clients need around three visits over a three to six month
period to allow ongoing assessment and monitoring of improvements.
You are advised
to allow 60-90 minutes for an initial consultation, and 30-45 minutes
for follow up assessment.
